Benilde-St. Margaret’s vs.

Holy Family Catholic

7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 2

After strong starts, both teams have hit a patch of adversity, as they enter this matchup coming off losses — albeit to top-ranked competition. A victory would provide a needed shot of damage control; a loss could trigger an extended swoon.

Benilde-St. Margaret’s (4-1-1), which lost 3-1 to No. 4-2A Hill-Murray on Saturday, uses an offense-by-committee approach that includes six players with four or more points led by junior Emma Hoen’s nine (3 goals, 6 assists). Boston University commit Olivia Haag, a senior forward, is the No. 5-2A Red Knights' top goal scorer with five tallies.

Holy Family Catholic (2-2-1) was stung by No. 2-2A Edina 8-0 on Friday. A bounce-back win against the Red Knights likely would require a strong goaltending performance from sophomore Sedona Blair or freshman Quinn McDonald, who has played well in mostly a backup role. Sophomore Maddy Helmstetter is the No. 10-2A Fire's points leader with eight.
