Lakeville South vs. Burnsville

7 p.m., Tuesday, Feb. 9

Eastview has established early supremacy this season in the South Suburban Conference standings — if only by an eyelash. Both Lakeville South and Burnsville have given the Lightning all they can handle, with the Cougars losing to Eastview 6-4 on an empty net goal on Jan. 16, and the Blaze skating to a 2-2 tie with the Lightning on Jan. 19. Both Lakeville South and Burnsville sit just two points behind Eastview in the league standings.

Lakeville South (5-1-1) has gone unbeaten in six games since losing its season opener to Eastview. The No. 7-2A Cougars are powered by the scoring of Minnesota State Mankato commit Taylor Otremba, a junior who ranks among the state leaders with 12 goals and 18 points.

Quinnipiac commit Sami Bowlby, a junior, leads Burnsville (5-1-1) in scoring with seven goals and 10 points. Junior Katie Katzmarek is the team’s primary playmaker, as all nine of her points this winter have come via assists.
