Top performer candidates

Eliza DiNatale, Red Wing. The junior forward led the Wingers to their first two wins of the season — 7-6 against Rochester John Marshall on Nov. 21 and 3-2 against Austin two days later — and in each game tallied a late point to put the Wingers on top. DiNatale tallied six points in the win against Rochester John Marshall, scoring four goals and adding two assists, including a power-play assist on the game-winner with less than four minutes left in the third period. Against Austin, DiNatale recorded her first hat trick of the season, her final goal coming with one minute remaining in the third period which stood as the game winner.

Emma Klenken, Marshall. The Tigers played their first overtime period of the season on Nov. 21, a game that ended with a score of 3-3. The junior goaltender made three times the amount of saves as Willmar’s goalie, stopping 63 shots — including 16 in overtime — for a .955 save percentage.

Khloe Lund, Thief River Falls. The Prowlers earned wins in both of their games last week, led by Lund, a senior defender who tallied eight points. Kayla Santl, Roseau. The Rams scored six goals in back-to-back matchups last week, defeating Bemidji 6-1 on Nov. 21, then tying Chaska/Chanhassen 6-6 the next day. Santl led the Rams’ offense in both games, scoring the opening goal against Bemidji and adding three second-period assists. Against Chaska/Chanhassen, the senior forward recorded a hat trick and two assists.

Grace Schuck, Bloomington Jefferson. The sophomore forward led the Jaguars’ 4-3 win at Simley on Nov. 23, erupting for four goals after scoring just once in the first five games of the season. Schuck started the game’s scoring with an unassisted power-play marker in the second period before adding her second of the game less than three minutes later. Then, with the Jaguars down by a goal late in the third, Schuck recorded the game-tying goal with less than two minutes to go.
