Chisago Lakes, ranked No. 9 in the Class 1A coaches' poll, started this season on a five-game winning streak, a complete reverse of last season’s 0-6 start. It followed that streak with a loss and a pair of ties.
What’s changed? Playing a full game, according to coach Dave Burgen.
“We’re not putting together three complete periods right now,” Burgen said. “We’re playing usually two really strong periods.”

Chisago Lakes junior forward Jenna Lawry tallied an assist and a pair of goals, including the tying goal that eventually sent the game to overtime. For the Stars of Osseo/Park Center (1-4-1, 1-4), they overcame a 2-0 deficit — including going down 1-0 just 26 seconds into the game — to take a 3-2 lead with 6:44 left in regulation. Their penalty kill remains perfect on the season.
Chisago Lakes’ (5-1-2, 1-0) senior goaltender Anna Egge-Kittleson (2-1-1) made 27 saves. With the regular goaltender out sick for the Stars, eighth-grade goaltender Anya Rokusek got the call for her first varsity game, stopping 23 shots.
