Defending champions Edina and Breck drew the top seeds for the girls’ hockey state tournament starting Wednesday and Thursday at Xcel Energy Center.
The Hornets have won the past three Class 2A tournaments. The Mustangs, based in Minneapolis, will be seeking their third consecutive Class 1A championship.
The Class 2A quarterfinals are Thursday. Here are the pairings and scheduled game times:
Farmington vs. No. 2 seed Andover, 11 a.m.
Roseau vs. No. 3 seed Minnetonka, 1 p.m.
Burnsville vs. No. 1 seed Edina, 6 p.m.
No. 5 seed Hill-Murray vs. No. 4 seed Maple Grove, 8 p.m.

Hutchinson vs. No. 3 seed Cloquet-Esko-Carlton, 1 p.m.
Luverne vs. No. 1 seed Breck, 6 p.m.
No. 5 seed Rochester Lourdes vs. No. 4 seed South St. Paul, 8 p.m.
The 1A semifinals are scheduled for Friday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. The 2A semifinals are at 6 p.m. and 8:30 p.m.
The championship games are set for Saturday at 4 p.m. (Class 1A) and 7 p.m. (Class 2A).
