Erica Power

Here is a closer look at Power.

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "Crazy, Stupid, Love."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Don't Stop Believin'" by Journey; "Under Pressure" by Queen; "With You" by Linkin Park.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Competitive; hard working; driven.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... energized and excited. I could feel the adrenaline in my blood.

How do you balance school and athletics? I have a seventh-hour study hall second and third trimesters. I try to use all the class time I have. Sometime I have to do homework during lunch, but usually I can get assignments ahead of time to try and do them early on game days.

What is your favorite meal before a game? Spaghetti with marinara sauce. I have it before every game.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Beating Lakeville North last hockey season on my birthday. We won 5-3 and I had two goals and an assist. It was the best birthday I could ask for!

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? All of the door-to-door selling/fundraising we have to do for each sport. I hate it, and every sport does it so nobody wants to buy anything.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? Only you have the ability to make your dreams come true.
