Eagan scorer picks up where she left off

Megan Wolfe

Eagan junior forward Megan Wolfe led the Wildcats' girls' hockey team in scoring last season. She has picked up right where she left off a year ago.

Wolfe opened the 2011-12 campaign with a hat trick and two assists in a 6-1 victory over Henry Sibley in a nonconference matchup. She registered three hat tricks as a sophomore.

Wolfe is coming off a season in which she produced 59 points (26 points and 33 assists) in 26 games.

The Wildcats finished with a record of 14-10-2 last year, losing 3-0 to Hastings in the first round of section play. Wolfe has her sights set on the Wildcats' season lasting a little longer this year, despite her squad not being ranked in top 20 teams in Class 2A by Let's Play Hockey.

Three words my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Talkative; nice; respectful.

Favorite meal before a game? Peanut butter and jelly sandwich and a banana.

How do you balance school and sports during the year? I do my school work before sports.

Who is your school's biggest rival, and why? Rosemount because of Kendra Goodrich.

How did you get started playing the sports you play now in high school? My brother.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... nervous and excited.

What did you work on in the offseason to prepare for 2011-12? Getting better, working on my hands and speed.

What are your goals for the 2011-12 school year as an athlete? To go to state.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? Going to state my eighth grade year.

To get focused for a game I ... listen to my iPod and stick handle.

I know I have an edge on an opponent when ... we control the offensive zone.

If you could change one thing about high school sports, what would it be? To play more games.

When you have time off during vacation, what do you like to do? Spend time with friends and family.

Who is your favorite college or pro sports team and why? The Chicago Blackhawks because I like Patrick Kane.

Do you have a secret talent - and if so, what is it? I'm good at fishing.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... out of college and starting a family.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? To have fun all the time and try your best.
