We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.
Albert Lea vs. Northfield, 7:15 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 11. Albert Lea (5-1-0) can both avenge a previous loss this season and potentially climb into a share of first place in the Big 9 Conference standings — should both teams win their Tuesday games before meeting Thursday — with a victory over Northfield (5-0-0) and junior goaltending standout Maggie Malecha.
International Falls vs. Prairie Centre, 2 p.m., Saturday, Feb. 13. After going winless last season International Falls (0-7-0), which lost 2-1 to North Shore last Friday, takes another shot at ending its 29-game winless skid against Prairie Centre (1-5-0).
