Top performer winner

Naomi Carradice, International Falls. The senior goaltender set a school record during the Broncos’ (0-7, 0-4) loss on Feb. 2 as she recorded 97 saves. That total is the second highest saves total in a Minnesota State High School League girls’ game, behind only Worthington's Taylor Baumhoefner’s record of 118 saves set in 2007. The Broncos lost 10-0 to Proctor/Hermantown.

Top performer candidates

Meredith Boettcher, Duluth Marshall. The sophomore forward has been a big part of the Hilltoppers’ five consecutive wins, having her most productive games last week. In the Hilltoppers’ shutouts of Duluth on Feb. 2 (5-0) and Pine City Area on Feb. 5 (8-0), Boettcher registered nine total points, including three power-play assists and one shorthanded goal. Through five games this season, Boettcher leads Duluth Marshall (5-1, 1-1) with 17 points.

Leah Bosch, Hopkins/St. Louis Park. The junior goaltender posted a season-high .977 save percentage on Feb. 6, stopping 42 shots — including seven in the sudden-death overtime — as the Royals (4-2-1, 0-0) battled to a 1-1 overtime tie at Bloomington Jefferson.

Rachel Golnitz, Forest Lake. The senior defender recorded seven points on the Rangers’ nine goals last week, the only Ranger to record multiple points in both games. Golnitz first led the Rangers’ 5-2 victory against Woodbury on Feb. 2 with a hat trick and one assist. Then against Stillwater on Feb. 6, Golnitz tallied a goal and two assists as the Rangers (5-2-1, 5-2-1) tied Stillwater 4-4 in overtime.

Lilie Ramirez, South St. Paul. The junior defender leads the Packers’ (4-3, 2-0) offense through seven games, thanks to her six-point performance during the Packers’ 7-0 victory against Visitation on Feb. 5. Ramirez recorded a hat trick — her first goals of the season — and added three assists.
