Dani Buehrer, a senior, is in the midst of her final season as a member of the Lakeville South girls' hockey team. A closer look:

The best movie I've seen in the last year? "Bridesmaids."

Three songs I never skip on my iPod are ... "Teach Me How to Dougie" by Cali Swag District; "Not Afraid" by Eminem; "Remember the Name" by Fort Minor.

Three words or phrases my friends or teammates might use to describe me? Hard working; positive; a leader.

How did you get started in hockey? My best friend brought me to her practice to watch her play, and the next day I was out there practicing with her.

At my first varsity practice, I felt ... nervous and excited.

How do you balance school and athletics? I prioritize my schedule. School comes first, then hockey.

What is your favorite meal before a game? My mom's chicken alfredo.

What is your most memorable moment as a high school athlete? The state tournament in 2009 and 2011.

What are your goals for the 2011-2012 season? Improve myself and my teammates, so we can go to the state tournament again.

What did you work on in the offseason? Getting stronger physically and mentally.

In 10 years, I hope I'm ... graduated from college with a career as a special education teacher.

What is the best sports advice you ever received? "Failure teaches success." Don't look at your mistakes as mistakes, look at them as learning opportunities.
