11 Players Score in Rout of Century/JM

By Pat Rupp

Seven different Farmington players scored goals and 11 registered at least a point as the Tigers bounced back from a season-opening loss to Eden Prairie with a 12-1 rout of Rochester Century/John Marshall Thursday night in their home opener at Schmitz-Maki Arena.

Any question about the final outcome of the non-conference match-up between the Section 1AA rivals was answered early when the Tigers scored seven unanswered goals in the opening period.

“The girls came ready to play and put on the pressure right away,” Farmington coach Jon Holmes said. “After we got the big lead we toned it down a little and tried to work on some different things we needed to practice.”

Sam Moehle scored a hat trick in the opening period and Abby Gehrke added a pair of scores to spark the first period goal-fest for the winners. Kenna Kadrlik and Reegan Werner also found the back of the net for the home team. Farmington outshot the Panthers by a lopsided 21-2 in the opening frame.

The Tigers added four more unanswered goals early in the second period with Moehle netting her fourth of the night and Kadrlik her second. Ava Johnson and Morgan Mitchell also scored in the second.

The visitors finally cracked the scoring ice a half way into the final period on a goal by Annika Trombenson. Farmington’s Alexa Bricko tallied the game’s final goal also midway through the final stanza.

Moehle added to her team scoring lead with four goals and three assists for a two-game total of 10 points. Gehrke, who carded three assists in the Eden Prairie game, finished with a five-point night and now has eight for the season. Kenna Kadrlik also rang up five points on two goals and three assists and has a two-game point total of seven.

Madison Kadrlik assisted on three goals and Werner had an assist to go with the first career varsity goal. Katie Klotz Jenna Bethke and Addison Trapp each chipped in with an assist.

Netminder Addison Moudry earned the first win of her freshman season by stopping 10 of 11 shots she faced. The Tigers outshot the Panthers by an eye-catching 51-11.

Farmington (1-1) opens its South Suburban Conference schedule Saturday with a Saturday afternoon game with Apple Valley (1-0) at Schmitz-Maki Arena.
