Andover wins Walser Invite, remains undefeated

Andover took a two-goal lead in the first period, then came back from a one-goal deficit in the third period for a 4-3 victory over Minnetonka in the championship game of the Walser Girls’ Hockey Invitational on Wednesday evening at Braemar Arena in Edina.

Ella Boerger, Madison Brown, Maya Engler and Sara Kaiser each scored for the No. 1 Huskies.

Andover senior Courtney Stagman made 32 saves. Sophia Johnson, a senior for Minnetonka, stopped 38 shots. It was the first time Andover allowed more than two goals in a game.

Both losses for the No. 3 Skippers (11-2) this season have come at the hands of Andover (12-0). The Huskies also won 1-0 at home against Minnetonka in the second game of the season.
