And the winner is...MN Girls' Hockey Hub Top Performer revealed

See who fans voted as the top performer from Jan. 3-8.

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Hockey Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Abigail Hemauer, Visitation. The Blazers won back-to-back games at Morris/Benson Area last week by a combined score of 18-3. They were led by Hemauer, an eighth grader who boasts 42 season points—split evenly between goals and assists—and is not far behind the top scorers across the state. In the Blazers' 8-0 victory on Jan. 7, Hemauer recorded four second-period points, two goals and two assists. The next day Hemauer scored a season-high four goals—including two shorthanded and one on a power play—and added three assists in the Blazers' 10-3 win.

Top performer candidates

Makayla Moran, Apple Valley. The freshman is atop the Eagles’ scoring, having recorded at least one point in every game this season and averaging nearly three points per game. Moran led the Eagles’ two victories last week. She scored five of the Eagles’ six goals, including a pair shorthanded, in their 6-3 victory at Eagan on Jan. 6. Against Farmington on Jan. 8, Moran played the part of playmaker, tallying four assists in their 6-2 victory.

Lauren O’Hara, Centennial/Spring Lake Park. The junior forward tied her season high of five points on Jan. 6, leading Centennial/Spring Lake Park to a 7-1 victory at East Ridge. O’Hara led the team’s successful 3-for-3 power play, assisting on two of the team's power play goals and scoring her lone goal of the game with the advantage. O'Hara added two more assists at even strength.

Josie St. Martin, Stillwater. The sophomore forward helped the Ponies start 2022 with a dominating performance, recording a season-high seven points to lead the Ponies’ 10-0 rout of Irondale/St. Anthony on Jan. 4. St. Martin had season highs in goals (4), assists (3) and points (7).

Dani Strom, Maple Grove. The sophomore goaltender backed the Crimson’s overtime victory against Rogers on Jan. 4. Strom tied her season high of 47 saves—including four in the overtime period—in the 3-2 victory, a .959 save percentage.
