Girls' hockey: Breck finally scores in 1-0 win over Novas

It took nearly 47 minutes, but Class 1A, No. 1 Breck finally sneaked a goal past Minneapolis senior goalie Hannah Hilden-Reid.

It took nearly 47 minutes, but Class 1A, No. 1 Breck finally sneaked a goal past Minneapolis senior goalie Hannah Hilden-Reid in a tight Tri-Metro matchup. Hilden-Reid had 43 saves with the Novas outshot 44-18, but Mustangs freshman defender Claire Mancheski scored the game's only goal 12 minutes, 57 seconds into the third period on an assist from senior captain Carly Schaeder. Senior Taylor Neisen had 18 saves in the shutout.

• ANDOVER 3, ANOKA 1: Sophomore Mikayla Goodin scored goals in the first and third periods to lead Andover to victory over Class 2A, No. 3 Anoka in the Northwest Suburban. Sophomore Blair Parent's power-play goal in the second period was the only score of the game for the Tornadoes as Huskies senior goalie Madison Denny stopped 29 of 30 shots. The conference rivals split the season series, with Anoka winning the first meeting 2-1 back on Nov. 19.

ROSEMOUNT 1, BLOOMINGTON JEFFERSON 1, OT: Junior defenseman Kendra Goodrich scored a power-play goal with 26 seconds remaining in regulation to help Rosemount salvage a tie with Bloomington Jefferson. The game's only two goals came in the final period, as Jefferson junior Kelsey Cline scored 4:26 into the third. Senior Caitlin Dantzcher made 35 saves for Rosemount.

WAYZATA 6, CHASKA/CHANHASSEN 5 (OT): Wayzata freshman Sophia Shaver scored 47 seconds into overtime, her second goal of the game, to hold off a furious comeback bid at Chaska. The Trojans led 5-3 with less than five minutes remaining in regulation, but late goals from Chaska/Chanhassen juniors Emma Silkey and Megan O'Brian sent the game to the extra session.

• EAGAN 2, EASTVIEW 0: Emma May recorded her fourth shutout of the season, the freshman's first since Dec. 30, as Class 2A, No. 9 Eagan slipped past Eastview. Wildcats junior forward Sarah Jackson assisted on both goals, setting up senior Alanna Stang in the first period and sophomore Emily Goff in the second. Senior goalie Delaney McKay had 27 saves in a losing effort.
