Pirates cannot handle defending Section 8A Champs the Warroad Warriors for their four Greater Minnesota Conference loss

Crookston, MN-The Pirates could not keep up with Section 8A Champions and Class A State Champions the Warroad Warriors with a six to zero loss.

The Warriors have not skipped a beat from last season as they came in and continued their success they have up in Warroad. In the first period the Warriors came out firing big time by posting twenty-four shots and scoring two goals on Pirate goaltender Lexie Cormican (Soph, G). In the second period it was the same again the Warriors came out firing by posting ten shots and scoring two goals again in period number two. In the third period once again the Warriors came out firing again by posting another ten shots and scoring two more goals on Pirate goaltender Lexie Cormican (Soph, G). In this game the Warriros took care of the Pirates in all departments as they outshot the Pirate in all three periods and also outscored the Pirates in all three periods.

Leaders for the Pirates was Lexie Cormican (Soph, G), she had thirty-eight saves for the Pirates and stopped forty-four shots that the Warriors put on goal.

Leaders for the Warriors were Mariah Gardner (Fresh, F), she had two goals for the Warriors against the Pirates. Another leader for the Warriors was Valerie Jacques (Soph, F), she had two assists for the Warriors. Also Goaltender Dani Knott (Jr, G), had six saves for the Warriors and stopped six shots the Pirates took.

Next game for the Pirates will be against the Roseau Rams in Roseau on Friday, December 6, 2013 at the Rams Sports Center.
