Tigers Blank Huskies 4-0

Four different players scored goals and the Tigers outshot Owatonna 37-14 in a 4-0 win over the Huskies Thursday night at Four Seasons Arena in Owatonna.

Farmington was playing its second game in three nights and showed some fatigue in the third period when it picked up four penalties.

“It was a pretty anti-climactic finish because play was so disrupted by the penalties,” Farmington coach Jon Holmes said. “But it was a good win against a section opponent nonetheless. We also got to skate our fourth line and they did a good job of holding onto the lead.”

The Tigers outshot their hosts by a lopsided 32-7 count over the first two periods in which they scored all of their goals.

Morgan Medved netted the lone goal of the opening period on assists from Kenzie Hauswirth and Marissa Agerter.

The visitors exploded for their final three scores in the second. The first two came on the power play, one each by Ellie Moser and Maddi Oines. Hauswirth and Agerter recorded assists on both goals.

Agerter supplied the final Farmington goal of the night later in the period on an assist from Hauswirth who had a hand in all four Tiger goals. Agerter finished with a goal and two assists for a three-point night.

Tiger goalkeeper Emily Auge stopped all seven shots she faced over the first two periods. Maddie Bowe finished off the shutout victory with a seven-save effort in the final period.

“We weren’t hitting on all cylinders as far as timing went,” Holmes said, “and it’s been a tough week getting everybody healthy…Hopefully with a light skate on Friday we’ll be ready for Saturday’s game.

The Tigers make the short trip to Lakeville Saturday for a match-up with South Suburban Conference leader Lakeville North at Ames Arena.
