Mankato West attempted 17 shots in Thursday’s game against Red Wing. The Wingers had at least 19 shots in each period, leading to a 6-0 victory over the Scarlets.

Maddy Hardyman had Red Wing’s first goal on an assist from Kayla Oberding 8 minutes, 52 seconds into the game.

The score would stand 1-0 through the first intermission before Regan Haley scored twice in the second. Haley’s first goal came at 15:10 on a feed from Caitie Turcotte, and the second on assists from Taylor Heise and Oberding at 16:34.

Haley converted her hat trick 6:59 into the third period on an unassisted goal that was followed by Elle Bryant’s tally at 8:06 on an assist from Turcotte.

Turcotte then scored her own goal, on a helper from Haley, at 16:14 to close out the scoring.

Ashley Corcoran, who was named a semifinalist for the Let’s Play Hockey Senior Goalie of the Year Award, stopped all 17 shots she saw for the victory. Haley was also named a semifinalist for an award on Thursday as one of 10 girls up for Minnesota Ms. Hockey. Haley’s recognition is the third straight year that Red Wing has had a player named as a Ms. Hockey semifinalist.
