Eden Prairie and Elk River experienced the heartache of being upset in overtime in a section championship game last season.

Second-seeded Andover knocked off top-seeded Elk River to win the Class 2A, Section 7 title, while No. 1 seed Eden Prairie lost to Edina in the Class 2A, Section 2 finale.

The Elks (17-3-3, 11-2-3), ranked No. 8 in the Class 2A coaches' poll, seem to be the section favorite, especially after recording impressive victories over No. 3-2A Edina (2-1) and No. 4-2A Maple Grove (2-0) in the past two weeks.

The No. 5-2A Eagles (14-6-2, 4-2), meanwhile, should earn a high seed for the playoffs, but could have trouble winning a title if the likely section bracket holds form. Minnetonka looks to have a lock on the No. 1 seed, and the No. 2-2A Skippers already have three victories over Eden Prairie this season.

With Eden Prairie and Elk River looking to build some momentum heading into the postseason, their matchup on Saturday in the regular-season finale is our Top Game of the Week.
