Player of the Week candidates for Feb. 13-18

This week's winner

Mallory Tidona, Northfield. The junior goalie recorded her fifth shutout of the season - her third consecutive - by stopping all 27 shots she faced in a 2-0 win over Red Wing.

The other candidates

Abigail Boreen, Hill-Murray. The junior forward scored one goal and added two assists in a 4-1 win over White Bear Lake.

Kiana Flaig, Roseau. Flaig made a season-high 44 saves for a .957 save percentage in a 3-2 win over Brainerd/Little Falls. She played 81 minutes, 40 seconds as the game went into four overtimes.

Kaitlyn Kotlowski, Warroad. The sophomore defender scored two goals in a 3-2 win over East Grand Forks. Kotlowski scored the game-winning goal with 26 seconds left in the third period, just one minute after East Grand Forks tied the game.

Chloe Lewis, Minnetonka. Lewis scored twice in a 4-1 win over Shakopee. The junior forward netted the game’s first goal on a power play less than two minutes into the second period, then finished the scoring with an empty-net goal with 1:17 left in the third.

Madi Nolan, Forest Lake. The senior forward scored two goals, including one shorthanded, and added two assists in a 5-2 win over Elk River/Zimmerman.

Livia Pesch, East Grand Forks. Pesch scored twice in a 3-2 win over Thief River Falls. The junior forward tallied the Green Wave's first goal midway through the second period to cut the team's deficit to 2-0, then she scored the game-winner with 4:34 left in the third.

Camryn Steinberg, Mankato East. The junior forward recorded a hat trick in a 4-2 win over Marshall.

Taylor Wente, Maple Grove. The senior forward scored one goal and added two assists in a 5-3 win over Centennial.

McKenzie Whalen, East Grand Forks. The junior goaltender stopped 49 shots, including 24 in the first period, in a 3-2 win over Thief River Falls. She posted a .961 save percentage for the game.
