Cardinals win it in cold

COON RAPIDS 4, BLAINE 3 (OT): Held outdoors at Phalen Recreational Center in St. Paul, Coon Rapids and Blaine made a memorable contest even more enjoyable by going to overtime. Junior forward Addie Rust knocked in a bouncing puck 2 minutes, 46 seconds into the extra period, while senior Rachael Bona added a goal and three assists for the Cardinals.

WAYZATA 3, EDEN PRAIRIE 1: Allie Fischer scored two goals as the Trojans upset the Class 2A, No. 7 Eagles in the Lake. Teammate Ellen Retsich chipped in with one goal and one assist.

LAKEVILLE NORTH 3, EAGAN 2 (OT): Freshman Alli Harvey scored the tying and game-winning goals in the Panthers’ overtime win at Eagan. The Wildcats jumped out to a 2-0 lead in the first period before Lakeville North responded to tie it up in the second. Harvey scored an unassisted power-play goal at 6:26 of overtime.

EAST RIDGE 2, FOREST LAKE 1: Two second-period goals by Erica Michaud and Brooke Marlow lifted the Raptors past Forest Lake. Audrey Hammer’s short-handed goal with 2:04 remaining ended a shutout bid for East Ridge’s Katie Ahmann, who recorded 35 saves.

ANDOVER 2, NORTH METRO 1: Both teams exchanged goals 15 seconds apart early in the second period, but Lauren Holmes scored the eventual game-winner later in the period for the Huskies.
