Top performer winner

Calla Frank, White Bear Lake. The senior goaltender posted a .966 save percentage in the Bears' 3-2 win over Suburban East Conference foe Stillwater on Dec. 15. Frank allowed two power-play goals while stopping a season-high 56 shots — just two days after a 39-save performance in a 2-1 win over Breck.

Top performer candidates

Kate Boland, Northfield. The senior defender tallied a season-high seven points (two goals, five assists) in the Raiders' 11-1 rout of Rochester Century on Dec. 11. Boland is tied for ninth in the state with 15 assists through the Raiders' first 14 games, and she averages nearly two points per game.

Laura Denchfield, Osseo/Park Center. Denchfield got the Stars off to a quick start, as she scored just eight seconds into what would be a 5-1 win over Irondale. One minute, 42 seconds later she scored again, and the senior forward added a goal and an assist on back-to-back power plays midway through the third to record her hat trick and finish the Knights.

Maureen Dwyer, North Shore. The junior goaltender recorded her first shutout of the season, as she made 37 saves — including 16 in the first period — in a 1-0 shutout win over St. Francis/North Branch on Dec. 15.

Molly Grundhoffer, Mankato West. The freshman has had an impressive start to the season, as she's tallied points in every game except the opener. Grundhoffer scored three goals and added two assists in the Scarlets' most recent win — a 7-2 victory over Windom on Dec. 15 — and is averaging nearly two points per game.

Kylee Hopp, Prairie Centre. The senior forward contributed a season-high six points (five goals, one assist) in the Blue Devils' 11-0 rout of Austin on Dec. 15. Hopp completed a hat trick just over nine minutes into the first period and added another goal in the second, plus an assist in the third. Hopp is tied for the most goals in the state (20).

Whitney Tuttle, Rosemount. The freshman forward led the Irish's offense in a streak-snapping 6-2 win over Prior Lake. Tuttle helped the Irish get out to a 4-0 lead early in the second period, as she assisted on the game's first two goals and scored the next two.

Makayla Pahl, Rochester Mayo. The senior goaltender stopped 61 Raiders shots — the seventh time this season she's faced at least 40 — while recording a .968 save percentage in a 2-0 loss to Northfield on Dec. 13.

Jayde Pederson, Waseca. Pederson scored four goals and added an assist in the Bluejays' 7-6 loss to Minnesota River on Dec. 13. The junior defender assisted on the game's first goal before scoring twice early in the second — one short-handed — to put the Bluejays ahead 3-0. Pederson scored twice more in the third.

Whitney Weick, Minnesota River. In a 7-6 win over Waseca, the senior forward tallied three assists — including one on the game-tying goal in the third period — before scoring the short-handed game-winner with less than one minute to play.
