We task our reporters with identifying several intriguing games throughout the state to assemble our Top Games of the Week. The matchups are presented in no particular order, and when there are additional games we want to highlight, we’ll include them with brief notes.

Other games to keep an eye on

Thief River Falls vs. East Grand Forks, 5:15 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25. Both No. 6-1A Thief River Falls (13-6-0, 4-0-0) and No. 9-1A East Grand Forks (12-6-2, 5-4-1) are middle of the pack in the Greater Minnesota Conference standings, but that doesn't mean they're average. These two have combined to score 149 times — including nine shorthanded goals.

Breck vs. Blake, 7:30 p.m., Friday, Jan. 25. The former Class 1A, Section 5 rivalry turns to purely a conference showdown when No. 2-1A Breck (15-6-0, 3-1-0) attempts to take down Independent Metro Athletic Conference-leading No. 2-2A Blake (18-2-0, 3-0-0), which is fresh off a one-goal win over new rival Edina, a Class 2A, Section 6 foe.
