And the winner is...MN Girls' Hockey Hub Top Performer revealed

Athletes are considered for the weekly top performer poll only if their stats are entered on the MN Girls' Hockey Hub by 10 a.m. on Sundays. If coaches or members of their staffs need access to enter stats, please email mnhubs@sportngin.com.


Top performer winner

Anna Volk, Windom. Volk tallied seven points in an 8-3 win over Morris/Benson on Jan. 19 — the senior's first time this season recording more than two points. Volk scored all five of her goals within 20 minutes and added two assists later in the game. 

Top performer candidates

Carly Beniek, Breck. The senior forward tallied six assists — a feat managed by only four others in Minnesota State High School League history, all within the past six seasons — in a 10-2 win over Minnehaha United on Jan. 15. 

Shelby Davidson-Newkirk, Austin. The sophomore goaltender backed the Packers' second consecutive overtime win on Jan. 15, this one a 3-2 decision against Mankato West. She made 42 saves and posted a .955 save percentage.

Kendra Emery, East Grand Forks. Emery contributed her fourth four-point game of the season in a Jan. 15 win over Moorhead. The freshman forward scored in the waning seconds of the first period and added two third-period assists and a goal to finish the Spuds 6-3. 

Ally Halverson, Rochester John Marshall. The senior forward led the Rockets' 5-2 win over Albert Lea on Jan. 17, as she scored twice in the first period and twice more in the third — her final goal coming on the power play. Halverson is tied for ninth in the state with 28 goals.

Megan Jung, Elk River/Zimmerman. It was the third time over the past six games that the senior goaltender faced over 40 shots, and Jung gave up just two goals as the Elks battled to a 2-2 tie against Spring Lake Park on Jan. 19. She recorded a .957 save percentage.

Sydney Langseth, Eden Prairie. The junior forward, averaging 2.65 points per game, contributed seven points (two goals, five assists) in the Eagles' 8-0 win over Hopkins/St. Louis Park on Jan. 15. Langseth supported the Eagles' 3-for-5 power play with a goal and two assists and added another assist short-handed. Langseth ranks fifth in the state with 29 assists and is tied for seventh with 53 points.

Kayla Santl, Roseau. The junior forward contributed an impressive eight points in a 14-1 win over Bemidji on Jan. 15. Santl — whose previous season-high points total was four — tallied seven first-period assists, including one on the power play and one short-handed, and scored a goal in the third.

Molly Scheid, New Ulm. The junior forward recorded her first hat trick of the season in an 8-0 victory over Worthington on Jan. 15. She also added four assists for seven total points.

Mackenna Stoterau, Centennial. The senior goaltender narrowly missed out on her first shutout of the season — stopping 37 shots in a 3-1 victory over Blaine on Jan. 15. Stoterau recorded a .974 save percentage in the win.
