Calla Frank Invest it to make more money. ‘‘Purple Lamborghini’’ by Skrillex and Rick Ross That it’s fun to watch me play but it is also frustrating to try and score.
Kelsey King Buy the pulled pork sandwich and tomato basil soup from Cafe Zupas and chocolate cake from PF Chang’s. ‘‘Forever’’ by Drake, Kanye West, Lil Wayne and Eminem I am just as good of a person as a player.
Mallory Uihlein Buy a pepperoni Potbelly sandwich, a chocolate shake and clear sock tape. ‘‘Heads Will Roll’’ by the Yeah Yeah Yeahs Tough to play against and good character and sportsmanship.
Madeline Wethington Put it on my Starbucks app for gameday strawberry açai lemonade with my sister. ‘‘Blood//Water’’ by grandson I’m the most competitive and passionate player they’ve had to face.

All-Metro second team

FORWARDS

Izzy Daniel, Blake, senior: Set the pace for the Bears' top-line attack. Ms. Hockey finalist. Committed to Cornell. 

Lily Delianedis, Blake, junior: Found the back of the net 35 times, most of any Bears player. Verbally committed to Cornell.

Katie Kaufman, Hill-Murray, senior: Skilled, smart player who tallied a team-high 30 goals. Committed to Merrimack.

DEFENSE

Rachel Golnitz, Forest Lake, sophomore: Scored 15 goals, tops among a strong defensive corps. Committed to Colgate.

Maggie Nicholson, Minnetonka, junior: Helped the U.S. to a silver medal at the Under-18 women’s world championships. Verbally committed to Minnesota.

GOALIE

Rose Beeman, Benilde-St. Margaret's, junior: Fundamentally sound yet able to make acrobatic saves. Stopped 94 percent of shots faced. Undecided on a college program.


All-Metro third team

FORWARDS

Sydney Langseth, Eden Prairie, junior: High-end, efficient player led Eagles with 28 goals. Verbally committed to Minnesota State.

Mannon McMahon, Maple Grove, senior: Gets up and down the ice for the state-bound Crimson. Committed to Minnesota-Duluth.

Olivia Mobley, Breck, junior: The puck always finds the offensive catalyst for the defending Class 1A champs. Verbally committed to Quinnipiac.

Jamie Nelson, Andover, junior: The playmaker on the Huskies' strong top line. Led the way with 37 assists. Verbally committed to Minnesota State.

DEFENSE

Brooke Peplinski, Eagan, senior: Tireless competitor made a difference in all three zones. Scored 10 goals. Currently uncommitted.

Addi Scribner, East Ridge, senior: Helped the Raptors earn their first state tournament appearance. Committed to Ohio State.

Emily Wisnewski, Wayzata, senior: Quarterbacked everything for a young and talented Trojans' team. Committed to Clarkson.

GOALTENDER

Taylor Smith, Mound Westonka, senior: Takes an undefeated record (21-0-5) into the Class 1A state tournament.

Cassidy Stumo, Andover, senior: Solid, experienced net minder key to the Huskies' state tournament appearance.


How the team was chosen

The Star Tribune’s All-Metro teams and Metro Player of the Year were chosen based on nominations from metro-area coaches, conversations with a panel of coaches and staff observations.
